Tardigrade AI

The intelligence behind climate risk management

Founded: 2019

Products: ADAPT (Anticipate, Detect, Adopt, Protect, Transform) is an SaaS platform designed to manage physical climate risks through four integrated modules:

  • A geolocated, real-time monitoring and early warning system to anticipate climate hazards before they strike
  • Climate risk assessment reports to assess vulnerabilities and decide on appropriate actions
  • A curated library of adaptation solutions to reduce risk and strengthen resilience
  • A serious game, and interactive training programmes, to engage teams and build internal capacity around climate adaptation challenges

Overview: Tardigrade AI was founded in 2022 by a team of seasoned entrepreneurs and climate risk experts with skills in climate risk management, R&D, innovation, AI, software deployment, and digital solutions. The solution has been created to enable businesses to anticipate, self-assess, and manage climate risks autonomously, with the same independent approach as is applied to market risks.

Tardigrade AI’s SaaS platform delivers site-specific risk assessments at a global scale, covering major chronic and acute climate hazards including floods (coastal, fluvial, and pluvial), heatwaves, wildfires, droughts, and windstorms. Leveraging the latest Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) projections and historical climate data, the vendor assesses each asset’s exposure — now and in the future — down to GPS co-ordinate granularity. All data is available year by year, across user-selected scenarios.

Valuation and financial analysis tools are built into the platform to translate physical exposures into financial impacts and climate value at risk. Tardigrade AI estimates potential business interruption losses, asset devaluation, and future insurability challenges. It also quantifies the financial benefits of adaptation, enabling clients to prioritise investments and build strong business cases for resilience.

The one-stop-shop platform provides dedicated decision-making tools for Climate Adaptation & Resilience (A&R), helping organisations identify cost-effective measures and design tailored site-level adaptation roadmaps. The solution is intended to enable internal alignment, giving risk managers, asset owners, and sustainability teams a common framework to evaluate and act on climate risk.

Tardigrade AI is designed for autonomy and integration. Users can update risk assessments year over year, monitor progress, and export results directly into regulatory frameworks such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), or the EU Taxonomy.
